"If you don't think self care is important... change your mindset"

If you've been following our social media, you will have seen that the Luxe team enjoyed a gorgeous few days away recently, for our "Christmas Doo".

(We even closed the salon for a day!) 😬

Set in the beautiful countryside surrounding Helmsley, we resided at Studford Luxury Lodges, where we relaxed, ate, drank and hot-tubbed til our heart's content.

It was genuinely one of the most relaxing weekends I've had!

Note the tone of surprise... because switching off is really hard these days.

We live in an "always-on" culture. We are always on the go, our phones are always on, our laptops and tablets are on, it really is no wonder even our brains struggle to switch off.

I for one have realised in the last year (like many people) how important it is to make time for yourself...

Time to do things we love, see the people we love or just time to zone out entirely, even if just for a few hours.

We must take care of ourselves and we must realise it's ok (actually it's better than ok, it's imperative) to do so.

Here's the thing though... understanding the importance of our own wellness is one thing... being able to (and allowing) ourselves to have it is an entirely different ball game.

So here is a simple task.

Ask yourself... When did you last do something for you? When did you indulge in some total "me time"? Have you allowed your body to switch off recently?

If you (like most people reading this), are sitting there thinking "I can't remember the last time I had some me time" or "This is so mee, I never switch off!" ... I'd like you to do something for me (spoiler alert, it's actually for you).

Stop what you're doing and do it.

Arrange to see a friend, schedule time to read or see a movie, book a facial or a massage.... or both!

Whatever it is that you love, just do it. You'll be so thankful that you did.
