Yoga seems to be everywhere! Maybe it's because of lockdown but what ever the reason, yoga is going from strength to strength. Everyone seems to have jumped on the yoga band wagon. I asked one of our fabulous clients Emma, a yoga teacher, to explain exactly what yoga is.
Here's what she told me.
"Yoga is a “practice”which is lifelong - it means to bind and come together in union. It can mean different things to so many people, it isn’t just a physical practice but a mind body connection.
Yoga is a way of life also known as science of the mind - we can use yoga as a form of meditation. Yoga can give you a focus away from all the stresses of life and take you on a journey of self exploration.
It can help alleviate back pain, mental struggles and bring you into a gentle state of mind ready to take on the day!
You don't have to have any experience as you are the experience, every time you get on the mat you will find something else out - this is where the magic happens"
I've got to say, it sounds fabulous. Yoga has always intrigued me but I've never given it a go, but Emma's words got me thinking!
